The USADA wants to find out whether you have ever applied anabolic steroids, EPO, HGH and/or other prohibited products. This fact may surprise you but the anti-doping organization doesn’t intend yet to stop the investigation linked with Lance Armstrong’s doping case. Thus, the investigation has not been ended. The USADA wants to investigate each cyclist. Especially suspected cyclists will be investigated.
The USADA desires to use the best ways in order to catch those that have ever administered banned products. What is the best way to clean cycling of steroid use? The USADA tries to set and apply the best methods. This anti-doping organization is even ready to compare elimination of doping in cycling with that in South Africa.
The USADA states that those that take steroids and other related medicines should be punished. Users of anabolic steroids and/or other doping products are blamed as if they were criminals. They are frequently compared with those who commit violence and other serious crimes. Steroids are harshly blamed in the society. Thus, the USADA supposes that if anabolic steroids and steroid users are demonized, it will be easier to eradicate doping.
Actually, the USADA asks the International Cycling Association to institute a Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The commission will investigate different cases connected with doping. The Truth and Reconciliation Commission will try to determine why several cyclists have administered anabolic steroids and/or other performance-enhancing drugs but remained undetectable.
Furthermore, the USADA promises that “amnesty” will be provided to those who admit to using steroids and/or other forbidden drugs, ask for forgiveness, repent and tell everything related to doping to the anti-doping agency, team doctors, teammates, friends, etc. If a former steroid user says only truth, he will get the full amnesty. Thus, the USADA hopes to clean the sport of cycling totally.
Travis Tygart, the CEO of the USADA, claims that there are certain cyclists connected with Lance Armstrong that have avoided detection. The Truth and Reconciliation Commission should identify them.
