It is strange that Nadzeya Ostapchuk has used metenolone

The Belarusian shot putter Nadzeya Ostapchuk won the 2012 Olympic gold medal. But she lost the medal because she failed a drug test. She was asked to provide two samples. The substance metenolone was found in both urine samples.
If you read news linked with doping, you must know that competitive sportspeople and bodybuilders are usually caught taking other steroids and/or performance-enhancing drugs. But as for Nadzeya Ostapchuk, she was caught taking metenolone. It is strange, according to words of anti-doping officers. What does this prohibited product represent? Why don’t athletes ordinarily apply this product for increase of performance?
Metenolone is an anabolic steroid. It possesses weak androgenic features. It works like testosterone, enhancing muscle mass and adding strength.
However this product has just weak androgenic nature, it leads to development of sex male characteristics in women. Females who take this medicine may face usual effects of virilization: the voice deepens; excessive hair grows on the face and on other parts of the body; etc.
This product may be administered orally or injectionally.
Metenolone (Methenolone) benefits greatly, when it is administered by sportspeople during their workouts. It is not taken during competitions. It doesn’t work, if it is administered just on the day of a competition.
It is also affirmed that it is easy to catch those who administer this anabolic steroid.
Adverse effects of Metenolone (Methenolone) depend on doses that are takne. They are following: water retention, hypercalcaemia, bone growth, excessive hair growth on the body, acne formation, male-pattern baldness, irregularities of menstrual cycles, increased sex drive, etc.
So, when you see a female athlete that has deep voice and excessive hair growth on the body, you may accuse her of doping. Actually, it is wrong because these troubles may occur also in those females who don’t take any steroids. But sometimes these effects demonstrate that certain female athletes administer drugs which have androgenic nature.
