Norwegian law enforcement officers have busted a large doping ring. Over 10 persons that were implicated in illegal operations were arrested. Six persons were sentenced to jail.
According to news of the newspaper Dagens N?ringsliv (DN), the doping ring was located in Trondheim. DN presented own investigation connected with illegal distribution of anabolic steroids in Norway. Police investigated the case.
It is supposed that a secret center is in Trondheim. It administrates illegal distribution of doping medicines and money laundering.
The arrested individuals were linked with bodybuilding, fitness and health industries in Norway. Several individuals were arrested at their homes; others – in business offices, car lots and tram stops.
Investigators suggest that certain persons are masked by the names of Guru and Karma.
Robert Eilertsen is one of those who have been arrested. He is an operator and editor of a fitness blog. This person coached well-known sportspersons within football, boxing, handball, etc.
It is supposed that Eilertsen and some other individuals have provided dangerous doping preparations to Norwegian youth during some years.
Approximately 60 police officers were implicated in raids. The raids caused 11 arrests.
Since the investigation continues, police officers say nothing about their further actions.
Norwegian customs officers and tax authorities assisted the investigation.
Many computers and some documents were seized during raids of homes, business officers, cars, etc.
Eilertsen and Gunnar Strand Jacobsen, another arrested individual, have denied their connections with doping medications. Jacobsen is the owner of Kaliber Gym in Trondheim, one of the most trusted gyms in Norway. Jacobsen was personal trainer of sportspersons that wined prizes. He coached sportspersons that attended to different sports. He is claimed to be a high-profile nutrition expert.
The raid was called “Operation Gilde”.
Eilertsen and Jacobsen are charged with sale of doping medications and money laundering.
